A filly from First-Crop sire Klimt brought a top bid of $160,000 during Wednesday’s session of the Sept. 9-10 Fasig-Tipton Selected Yearlings Showcase in Lexington.
Consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, hip No. 245 went to North London Bloodstock.
The bay filly is the first foal out of The Factor mare Mining For Mercury, who is a half-sister to Fair Grounds Oaks (G2) winner Real Cozzy. Through her third dam, this is also the family of Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Real Quiet.
The winning bid was 16x Klimt’s stud fee. A Grade 1 winner at two, Klimt retired to stud at Darby Dan in 2018. In his first season, he was one of the most popular freshman sires, breeding 187 mares.
Klimt has four additional lots cataloged for Thursday’s session that begins at 10 a.m. ET.
