The results of the March 12-13 OBS 2-year-olds in Training Sale couldn’t have been more impressive for Tapiture, who had a highwater mark on Wednesday when a filly by the Darby Dan stallion brought a winning bid of $475,000.
Tapiture wrapped up the auction with an average sale price of $231,000, more than 30 times his stud fee.
Hip 387, consigned by S B M Training and Sales, was purchased by Team Casse, agent. The filly had worked a bullet eighth-mile in :09 4/5-seconds at the Under Tack show. She is out of the War Front mare Peace Process.
One of the more popular young stallions at stud, Tapiture bred 525 mares in his first three books. He is standing this year for $7,500 stands and nurses.
