Klimt had his best result to date at the April 20-23 OBS Spring 2-year-old sale Thursday when hip No. 902 sold for $310,000 late in the session.
Consigned by Eisaman Equine, agent, the chestnut Kentucky-bred went to Kaleem Shah, Inc.
“He is a gorgeous-looking horse who had a great breeze and vetted clean. He should be a runner,” said Shah.
The colt, who had breezed a furlong in a rapid 10 seconds flat during the Under Tack show, is out of the Jump Start mare Hey Little Sister, who has already produced four winners. He was bred by Laura McKinney.
Klimt has now had three lots bring at least $200,000 during the current sale, and has six more chances to add to that total during Friday’s closing session. The First-Crop sire will also have an opportunity to get his first winner on Friday when Baytown Vallegirl goes postward in a maiden special weight race at Keeneland.
