Tapiture had his top result of the OBS March 2-year-olds in Training sale during Wednesday’s closing session when hip No. 576 sold for $200,000 early in the session.
Consigned by Fast Horses, the chestnut colt went to Winchell Thoroughbreds. He had turned in a 10 second flat work during last week’s Under Tack Show.
The second foal out of the City Zip mare Just Cat, the colt hails from the family of Ashland S. (G1) winner and track record-setter Speech and the multiple graded stakes winner Rated R Superstar.
Tapiture’s 2-year-olds have averaged nearly 10 times his stud fee at auction thus far in 2023. His next juveniles available at auction will be in the April 25-28 OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds in Training, where he has nine lots in the catalog.
