Dialed In’s 2-year-old colt Divieto prevailed in Sunday’s Aventura S. Sunday at Gulfstream Park despite being severely squeezed between rivals at the start of the one-mile contest.
With horses to both his inside and outside veering into him right after the break, Divieto managed to gather himself and make the lead in the first sixteenth. He sped through a half-mile in :45.82 with a two-length lead. Secret Chat came to make a race of it in the final furlong, but could get no closer than a half-length as Divieto stopped the timer in 1:37.57 on a “good” main track.
Divieto has now won two of his three lifetime starts for owners Magic Stables LLC, Cairoli Racing Stable and Midnight Racing LLC. The dark bay was bred in Kentucky by Hinkle Farms and sold to his trainer Antonio Sano for $110,000 at the 2022 Keeneland September Yearling sale.
Divieto is one of 14 stakes horses this year by Dialed In. In addition to Grade 1 winners Defunded and My Opinion (IND), Dialed In is the sire of Kentucky Oaks (G1) runner-up Gambling Girl. As he has done perennially, Dialed In is the leading sire of his generation again in 2023, with over $7.2 million in progeny earnings to date.
