Tapiture’s latest winner Beautiful Trauma overcame a very difficult trip to come away a with a three length win in a seven-furlong maiden special weight contest for 2-year-old fillies Oct. 27 at Churchill Downs.
She is the 18th winner for Tapiture, which is second behind only American Pharoah, who has 40 more starters than Tapiture, on this year’s First-Crop Sire list.
Beautiful Trauma was beset by plenty of traffic trouble in the first five furlongs, stuck behind horses and still bottled up coming into the stretch. She finally found an opening in upper stretch and spurted through to pull away in the final furlong to secure the win (VIDEO).
Beautiful Trauma is owned by Hoffman Family Racing and Steve Landry. The chestnut filly was bred by Cloyce Clark and Jay Goodwin and sold for $150,000 at the 2018 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Summer Yearling sale.
