Blazing Sevens, a Classic-placed son of Good Magic and impressive winner of the Champagne S. (G1) at two, has arrived at Darby Dan Farm to begin his stallion career. Available for inspection now, Blazing Sevens will stand the upcoming breeding season for $12,500 S&N.
As a two-year-old, he broke his maiden in his first start at Saratoga; then in the prestigious stallion-making Champagne S. (G1), Blazing Sevens overcame a troubled start, made a sweeping move on the far turn, and stormed by his rivals in the stretch to score by 3 ¼ lengths for his owner Rodeo Creek Racing and trainer Chad Brown. At three in the second leg of the Triple Crown, Blazing Sevens was beaten by a head in the Preakness S. (G1) by multiple Grade 1 winner National Treasure.
“His connections had high hopes for a strong racing season at age four, but minor setbacks took their toll. That does not take from his impressive Grade 1 win as a two-year-old and a near-miss in the Preakness S. (G1) at three,” said Stuart Fitzgibbon, Darby Dan Farm’s stallion director. “Blazing Sevens’ combination of top-class racing achievements, physical attributes, and lineage make him a highly desirable stallion. We’re excited to introduce him to breeders.”
By Good Magic, the sire of five Grade 1 winners from his first two crops, Blazing Sevens is out of the winning Warrior’s Reward mare Trophy Girl, a half-sister to Grade 1 winner King David and stakes winner Bertsgoldenmissile. Bred in Kentucky by Tracy Farmer, Blazing Sevens was a Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Select Sale graduate.
Peter Bradley, racing manager for Rodeo Creek Racing, said, “Blazing Sevens is a standout. He is jaw-dropping gorgeous.”
Blazing Sevens is set to embark on his next chapter as a stallion. To schedule an inspection or for more information on Blazing Sevens, contact Stuart Fitzgibbon at (859) 621-6763, or by email at [email protected].
