Bourbon Calling became Dialed In’s 32nd lifetime stakes winner on Aug. 28 in the $100,000 Russell Road S. at Charles Town.
The dark bay 4-year-old got a well-timed ride from J D Acosta, coming from several lengths off the pace in the final furlong to win the seven-furlong contest by a head and earn a lifetime-best Beyer Speed Figure of 94.
A leading sire with each of his first five crops, Dialed In has eight stakes horses in 2020, including the multiple stakes winner Chalon.
Bourbon Calling races for Bourbon Lane Stable and Six Column Stable and has earned $288,070.
Bred by John Phillips and Pamela Gartin, Bourbon Calling’s dam Bestowed a Star is from the same Phillips family as the Eclipse Champion grass mare Soaring Softly.
