For the second time in as many days, First-Crop sire Copper Bullet had a six-figure juvenile at the 2023 OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds in Training.
The latest came on Thursday, when hip No. 840 went to Winchell Thoroughbreds for $175,000.
The colt was consigned by Steve Venosa’s S G V Thoroughbreds, agent. He had worked a furlong in 10 seconds flat at the Under Tack show.
The dark bay Kentucky-bred is the first foal out of Quite a Secret, who is a sister to a pair of stakes horses. Her dam Cliff’s Secret has a trio of stakes-winning siblings.
Copper Bullet’s current 2-year-old sales average of $113,888 is in the top 10 of all First-Crop sires.
