Super Stock lived up to his connections’ expectations with a 3 1/2-length victory in the $100,000 Texas Thoroughbred Futurity Aug. 11 at Lone Star Park.
The bay 2-year-old son of Dialed In was beaten just a head a week prior in a five-furlong maiden special weight race on the main track, and proved himself over the same course and distance on Tuesday.
Send off as the post-time favorite, Super Stock dueled with Bobby Brinkley for the first three furlongs, then put his foe away in upper stretch and drew off for the win.
Bred in Kentucky by Pedro and P. J. Gonzalez, Super Stock races for Erv Woolsey and Keith Asmussen.
With seven black type horses in 2020, Dialed In is the second-leading Fifth-Crop sire of stakes horses. He has more than 30 stakes horses and over $18 million in progeny earning lifetime, both in the Top 10 on the cumulative Fifth-Crop list.
