Chalon inched closer to millionaire status with a comfortable victory in Saturday’s $75,000 Dashing Beauty S. at Delaware Park.
The 6-year-old daughter of Dialed In has been a model of consistency throughout her career, finishing first or second in 15 of 20 starts. Saturday’s payday upped her earnings to $926,895 for owner Lael Stables.
Breaking from post 10 in the six-furlong contest, Chalon was three-wide as she battled for the lead. Despite being well off the rail, she took over the top spot on the turn after putting in a half-mile in a torrid :44.42. Drawing off in the stretch, she was eased up the last sixteenth to win by 2 1/4-lengths in 1:09.16 on the fast track.
Chalon is one of six stakes horses this year for Dialed In. He is a leading Fifth-Crop sire by black type horses and graded stakes horses. His largest crop to date are 2-year-olds of 2020.
